Sen. Elizabeth Warren has a game plan for almost every major political issue. Student loan debt …check…affordable housing plan…check…the opioid crisis…check…your love life…yep you can check that off too!
Warren’s impressive list of game plans inspired comedian Ashley Nicole Black to use Twitter to question if Warren had a plan for her love life. “Do you think Elizabeth Warren has a plan to fix my love life?”
Black was not expecting a response from Warren, but within an hour of creating the tweet, she got one. “DM me and let’s figure this out,” Warren responded.
Black, who is a former correspondent for the late-night show Full Frontal with Samantha Bee seemed to be shocked to see Warren reply.
“I am deceased. And ready to welcome new love in my life. And then get our new pres elected,” she responded. Her tweet included a screenshot of the exchange, adding the hashtag, “#shehasaplan.”
Twitter users went crazy over the exchange.
“This is the most magical thing I’ve ever seen happen on this website or anywhere,” writer Katie MacBride said. “It is the literal opposite of the presidential twitter we’ve had for the past two and a half years and I could not be any more here for it.”
“Most days I am fairly content to be a Canadian, but this morning I wish I could elect you,” wrote actress Miranda Duffy.
“How effin’ awesome is this?!” tweeted writer Annie Fox. “A POTUS with a heart, a mind, a sense of humor and two X chromosomes. Yes! We are so ready for this!”
“Me next, please. Thank you,” wrote one user.
“And THIS is why we love her!” another wrote.
“I want to have a beer with Warren and I don’t even drink,” a tweet read.
Even some Republicans found Warrens reply enchanting. “As a longtime vocal Repub in Hollywood, she is slowly winning me over…” wrote Twitter user Lana Walke.
The Twitter exchange has been shared thousands and thousands of times. It has been a clear and fun reminder of Warren’s focus on policy, which she hopes will set her apart from the other Democrats in the race.
A few days after the exchange Black returned to Twitter to share, “Guess who’s crying and shaking and just talked to Elizabeth Warren on the phone?!?!? We have a plan to get my mom grand kids, it’s very comprehensive, and it does involve raising taxes on billionaires,” Black wrote on Twitter, referencing Warren’s campaign mantra that she has a “plan for that.”
