There were a lot of people covering the now public hearings in Donald Trump’s impeachment inquiry, but none of them stood out like Pissi Myles.
Myles is a big wig-wearing drag queen from Asbury Park, New Jersey.
Myles showed up in a bright red dress and giant blonde wig He sashayed his way through security to do a live feed from the impeachment hearings.
“It’s a crazy day in Washington! I’m flipping my wig over the high-energy proceedings today,” Myles said. “Tensions are high, and the bar for who’s allowed in the Longworth House is very, very low.”
Myles is a popular and award-winning drag performer. He is also a regular performer in clubs across New York City. Myles is a performer in Fire Island Pines, which is a gay male summer vacation destination.
He also runs a popular podcast known as “My Gay Spooky Family.”
“Someone did just ask me last night if there’s anything in D.C. that surprises me anymore,” NBC News’ reporter Heidi Przybyla in a tweet on Wednesday.

Myles’s husband, David Ayllon, told NBC News that Myles is at the impeachment hearing to cover the event for a new app called Happs.
“They scouted him out at his Barracuda show on Sunday,” Ayllon shared. “I do know they were looking for a comedian who could improv on the spot and deliver the news in a fun way.”
Myles was live on Twitter on Wednesday from the impeachment hearing.
In an interview with “Instinct” earlier this year, Myles did not want to discuss anything “overly political.”
“Honestly, the thing that makes me the saddest is seeing our community lose its focus,” he said. “We attack each other over everything, forgetting that there are people who actually hate us and want to see us fail. I wish our community would loosen up a little.”
