On Saturday, Donald Trump once again called Democrat’s formal impeachment inquiry a “witch hunt.” Later in the day, he would call for his political rival Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to be called to testify in the impeachment inquiry.
“The witch hunt continues, lot of witch hunt continues,” Trump told reporters. “The Republicans have never been so united and I think the people of our country have never been so united.”
Trump’s statements come on the heels of the transcripts of testimony given by witnesses in the Democrat’s closed-door proceedings being publicly released. Those transcripts show that witnesses focused on the controversial circumstances surrounding Trump’s July 25 phone call to the President of Ukraine.
During that controversial phone call, Trump pressured President Zelensky to open an investigation into his political rival Joe Biden and his son, Hunter while withholding nearly $400 million in military aid from Ukraine.
Trump wanted Ukraine officials to look into Joe Biden’s pressuring of former President Petro Poroshenko into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the Ukranian gas company that his son, Hunter sat on the board of directors of. He also wanted Zelensky to look into the rumored interference of Ukraine in the 2016 presidential election.
There is absolutely no evidence that the Biden family did anything wrong in connection with their dealings with Ukraine.
The heart of the Democrat’s impeachment inquiry is a whistleblower complaint and their belief that there was an attempted quid pro quo by withholding the military aid.
Trump continues to call his phone call with Zelensky “perfect.”
While at the Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, Trump told reporters that he may release the transcripts to another phone call he had with Zelensky back in April of this year. He called the information in the transcript “important” and added he may release it on Tuesday.
“They want to have a transcript of the other call, the second call, and I’m willing to provide that,” Trump stated adding, “You’ll read the second call, and you’ll tell me if there’s anything wrong with it.”
Over the weekend Republicans stated that they planned on calling on Hunter Biden to testify in the impeachment inquiry next week. Adam Schiff stated that the committee was currently evaluating the Republican’s request.
“I recommend that Nervous Nancy Pelosi (who backed up Schiff’s lie), Shifty Adam Schiff, Sleepy Joe Biden, the Whistleblower (who miraculously disappeared after I released the transcript of the call), the 2nd Whistleblower (who also disappeared), & the I.G., be part of the list!” Trump tweeted.

On Friday, Republicans took steps toward getting Adam Schiff to testify. Devin Nunes demanded that Schiff testifies before lawmakers. Schiff has not yet commented on the request.
