Donald Trump has a long history of attacking women who speak out against him. He has used social media to attack women’s appearances and intelligence. In one particular attack, he went after “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski.
Trump claimed in a tweet that Brzezinski had attended an event he held at Mar-a-Lago and that she was “bleeding badly from a face-lift.” The tweet originated from a conversation between Brzezinski, Trump, and Melania that took place in their bedroom at Mar-a-Lago.
Brzezinski says that she and her husband, who is also her “Morning Joe” co-host, Joe Scarborough, regrettably had a working relationship with Trump since long before his first campaign. She adds that the relationship is something she and her husband now regret.
Brezinski says they would pay the Trump’s a visit now and then and vice versa, and during Trump’s presidency she and Joe came to Mar-a-Lago at Trump’s request.
“I actually had gotten like a thing on the sides of my neck, like I guess they call it like a chin tuck,” she told co-host Molly Jong-Fast in an episode of The New Abnormal. “Four days later, it’s New Year’s Eve and Trump is calling Joe and he’s like ‘Where’s Mika?’ He’s always obsessed with me.”
She says that because she was still “loopy on painkillers” from the surgery Joe advised her not to go, but she found a turtleneck and went to the event.
Brzezinski said the crowd was ‘facelift central.’
The couple looked for Trump and Melania and after finding them they were invited to chat in the couple’s bedroom.
She says she was speaking with Melania about the chin tuck inside the couple’s bedroom.

‘Melania and I start talking, and I do the thing that I do, which tells people the thing that I’ve done,’ she said, adding that ‘Melania was curious about it.’
“I’m talking to Melania about it, woman to woman, then Donald came up and said, ‘You know, Melania has had no work done. She’s perfect.‘’ I’m like, ‘That’s great.”
She says that months went by and she made some disparaging remarks about Trump on-air and the next day he makes the “bleeding facelift” tweet.
“I literally laugh out loud. Uproariously I thought it was the funniest thing I’d ever read,” she says, before explaining how she and her team plotted their response.
She said she found Trump’s tweet “hilarious” and added that they, however, did need “a response ASAP.”
So, Brzezinski tweeted a photo of a box of Cheerios with the tagline, ‘made for little hands,’ presenting it without further comment.
The following day she responded to Trump’s tweet on air, chiding Trump for “face shaming” her.
During the show, she said that Trump made House Republicans ‘look like fools’ by making them celebrate their bill’s passage in a Rose Garden ceremony the previous month. She then moved on to make fun of his tiny hands, calling them “teensy.”
After Trump made the “bleeding facelift” tweet many social media users wanted to know how his wife’s online bullying campaign “Be Best” was going.
