A TikToker posted a video announcing the end of her relationship with her father.
He is a Republican state senator who has worked to eliminate a woman’s freedom to choose, and she is a bisexual woman.

On Wednesday, Korynn Dickey posted the video, but she omitted her father’s name.
“I had to cut my dad off,” the text overlay reads as she sways with a rainbow pillow. “See, I’m a bisexual Pisces and he is a republican state senator who contributed to taking my rights as a woman away and the possibility of me being able to marry the girl of my dreams one day.”

“Guess who!! clues are hidden in the video.”
The mystery was immediately solved when internet sleuths determined that her father was state senator Adrian Dickey of Iowa. In a subsequent TikTok video, the user appeared to confirm this, mentioning that her father was one of the Republicans pleading with the state Supreme Court to overturn a ruling that abortion is a constitutional right in the state.

“Yes my dad didn’t vote on roe v wade but he did support this! That’s enough for me to finally cut him off and no longer claim him as a parent,” she wrote with the video.
She made note of his involvement in the GOP’s campaign to demonize and discriminate against transgender kids who wish to participate in school sports in a different video.

Dickey told the Daily Dot that she came out to her father as a plan to exclude trans children from athletic teams was being debated in the legislature under the pretext of “preserving girls’ sports.” She said she made the decision because she “wasn’t OK with what was happening.”
She claimed that once she came out, her father dismissed her. She did, however, note that their relationship had been tense for a while. She said that because of his abuse, she experienced post-traumatic stress disorder. She was only able to try to avoid interacting with him as an adolescent.

“It was purely no contact out of fear,” she said.
Prior to the present controversy, the two had reconciled in 2020.
“When he was elected I was told to keep my mouth shut. I did because at the end of the day, I really hoped he had changed,” she said. “When Roe v. Wade came to light, I voiced my concerns and he silenced them.”
