On Tuesday, a life-sized statue of Melania Trump was unveiled not far from her hometown of Sevnica in eastern Slovenia. The bronze statue was created to replace a wooden statue of Trump, which was set on fire on the 4th of July.
As Americans celebrated the 4th of July someone climbed up and set the wooden statue of Melania Trump on fire. It was later put on display at a museum.
The new bronze statue rests on top of a nine-foot-tall wooden pillar. The statue has rough features and the face resembles Melania Trump in no way.
The statue also has a plaque that reads: “This statue is dedicated to the eternal memory of a monument to Melania which stood in this location.”
Berlin-based American artist Brad Downey commissioned the original wooden sculpture, which was created using a chainsaw by artist Ales Zupevc.
The original wooden statue was painted with a pale blue wraparound coat that resembled the coat Melania wore at her husband’s inauguration. The bronze statue features no colors.
A large wooden statue of Donald Trump was also put on display in the Slovenia city of Moravce.
The Donald Trump statue was created by a local artist. That statue was also set on fire just days before Melania’s was burned.
