On Tuesday, Chelsea Clinton used Twitter to blast Rush Limbaugh for “peddling fake news” about the deadly coronavirus.
Clinton, who is the daughter of former president Bill Clinton and former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, responded on Twitter to Limbaugh’s comments that he made during his broadcast that the coronavirus epidemic was created to be a weapon against Donald Trump,
“February 25th, 2020: The day I wished Rush Limbaugh had stuck to comparing me to a dog,” she posted referring to Limbaugh comparing her to a dog during a broadcast in 1993 when she was only 13-years-old.
Clinton added, “much better than peddling #fakenews about coronavirus #COVD-19 to his millions of listeners.”

On Monday during his radio show Limbaugh compared the coronavirus to the common cold.
So far, over 2,500 people in China have died from the virus. Worldwide the disease has infected over 80,000.
“Folks, this coronavirus thing, I want to try to put this in perspective for you. It looks like the coronavirus is being weaponized as yet another element to bring down Donald Trump,” Limbaugh stated.
“You think I’m wrong about this?” he added. “I’m dead right on this. The coronavirus is the common cold, folks.”
If you missed what Limbaugh said about it, here’s the rest of the quote:
“The Drive-By Media hype of this thing as a pandemic, as the Andromeda strain, as, “Oh, my God, if you get it, you’re dead.” Do you know what the — I think the survival rate is 98%. Ninety-eight percent of people get the coronavirus survive. It’s a respiratory system virus. It probably is a ChiCom laboratory experiment that is in the process of being weaponized. All superpower nations weaponize bioweapons. They experiment with them. The Russians, for example, have weaponized fentanyl. Now, fentanyl is also not what it is represented to be.”
On Tuesday, some of the U.S,’s top health officials cautioned that the spread of the virus in the U.S. was inevitable. So far, the U.S. has seen 57 confirmed cases. Forty of those cases returned to the U.S. after being quarantined on the cruise ship the Diamond Princess.
Limbaugh is flat out wrong about it being the common cold and he’s also wrong about this being weaponed. For a man that was just given the Medal of Freedom, you’d expect more accurate information. But this is what you get from the king of misinformation.
