On Monday, 15-year-old Claudia Conway, the daughter of Kellyanne and George Conway, shared on her social media accounts that her parents were forcing her to delete her social media.
“My parents are forcing me to delete social media so this is my last tweet,” Claudia tweeted Monday night. “Apparently, i don’t have a platform! it’s fake! love you all so much. keep fighting.”
Claudia had hundreds of thousands of followers on her social media platforms. She used her social media accounts to share anti-Trump memes and messages.
At the end of June, the teen did an interview with Insider where she opened up with her relationship with her mother, who is Donald Trump’s counselor.
“We do get into arguments a lot — I’m not going to lie,” Claudia told Insider’s, Connor Perrett. “My mom is my best friend but we do fight all the time over politics, and I’m always shut down by my entire family.”
Claudia is a leftist and a liberal and it makes her home life difficult because they are both conservatives.
“I grew up in a very very conservative family, so I was only exposed to those views for a very long time,” Claudia said. “I decided to educate myself and think for myself.”
Her views about Trump align much closer to those of her father, who is a vocal Trump critic and co-founder of the anti-Trump PAC the Lincoln Project.
“I respect everyone’s views,” Conway stated during her interview with Insider. “For me, there’s a certain threshold, I think. Everyone in my family are Trump supporters except for my Dad and I.”
She went on to share that she “respectfully declined” her mother’s request to take down her anti-Trump social media posts. In a July 10 tweet, she wrote that she “will no longer be speaking on my family,” and confirmed that her father “had attempted to delete all of my social media.”
Claudia called her parents out on Twitter just hours after she encouraged her followers to “social distance Trump from his social media.” She told her father, “Sorry your marriage failed.”
Later in the day, George Conway tweeted: “To journalists: @kellyannepolls and I do *not* consent to any communications between you and any of our minor children, including our daughter Claudia. So, desist. Thank you.”
Less than one hour later, Claudia replied: “you’re just mad that I’m finally getting my voice heard. sorry, your marriage failed.”
Later that night Claudia told her 111,700 followers that her parents were “trying to silence” her.
She tweeted: “My parents, particularly my mother, are trying to silence me by getting me to delete my social media. haha”
Previous tweets had also shown the Claudia slamming female Trump supporters and saying they “must really hate” themselves.
Kellyanne Conway has worked as a counselor to Donald Trump since 2017.
Claudia posted a tweet on July 10 to Donald Trump about the pulling down of Confederate statues. She wrote, “proud of years of racially-motivated oppression? those confederate statues? put them in museums.
“They should NOT be in the streets to be venerated. history is taught with the intent to prevent it from repeating itself. you are adding to this country’s racist narrative.”
Later that same day she tweeted, “also PSA: i will no longer be speaking on my family. but i can confirm that it was my father who attempted to delete all of my social media. no hate to anyone.”
She also repeatedly tweeted to both of her parents to “stop shutting my phone off.”
Claudia also has a TikTok where she encouraged people to vote against Trump.
