Controversial Rep. Lauren Boebert (R. CO) keeps making headlines for saying and doing ridiculous things, such as tweeting an ominous warning to Facebook in response to the Wednesday news that the social media giant had decided to keep former President Donald Trump off its platform:

“This morning, Facebook banned Trump permanently. Facebook will pay the price. Mark my words.”

Some responded by pointing out that her claim that the Facebook ban was permanent is not entirely accurate, as Facebook’s Oversight Board upheld the ban but added that it was “not appropriate” to suspend the Trump’s account indefinitely.
Facebook will review the ban within six months of Wednesday’s decision in order to determine the next appropriate response.
Boebert has since deleted the tweet, but not before it received massive mockery from her Twitter critics:

Boebert, a controversial freshman Rep. from Colorado, has consistently gotten the attention she so clearly seeks over the last several months for going full steam ahead on conspiracy theories, promotion of Donald Trump, and other generally offensive and/or stupid statements, such as joining with Trump Jr. last week to spread the lie that Joe Biden wanted to strip Americans of their right to eat beef.
It’s been a rough go of things lately for Boebert
President Joe Biden’s plan to slash greenhouse emissions led to the controversy when the Daily Mail published a story claiming that Biden’s plan “could’ include a policy that would slash red meat consumption among Americans and MAGA supporters, including Donald Trump Jr and Boebert bought the story hook, line, and sinker and immediately went on the defense over their right to eat red meat and shared the media outlets speculation as a fact.
Nowhere in the speech did Biden say anything at all about reducing red meat consumption for Americans.

Boebert also recently said that the Democrat wish-list item of adding justices to the Supreme Court was comparable to “terrorism,” and has frequently pushed QAnon and other conspiracy theories related to the 2020 Presidential Election, often claiming that waves of arrests and resignations will lead to Republicans taking back congress and possibly Donald Trump returning to the White House.
Joe Biden’s plan to slash greenhouse emissions led to a bit of controversy when the Daily Mail published a story claiming that Biden’s plan “could’ include a policy that would slash red meat consumption among Americans.
MAGA supporters, including Donald Trump Jr, Rep. Lauren Boebert bought the story hook, line, and sinker and immediately went on the defense over their right to eat red meat and shared the media outlets speculation as a fact.

The Daily Mail reported that President Biden’s “could limit” the consumption of burgers to just once a month. The media outlet even ran an infographic to support its claims. It claimed that to meet Biden’s target to cut emissions in half by 2030 Americans may find themselves having to “cut 90 percent of red meat out of diet” and “eat only 4lbs a year.”
“Americans may have to cut their red meat consumption by a whopping 90 percent and cut their consumption of other animal-based foods in half,” the Daily Mail stated.

The media outlet also associated a completely unrelated January 2020 study by the University of Michigan to Biden’s climate plan, stating that making these changes by 2030 “could see diet-related greenhouse gas emissions reduced by 50 percent.”
Despite what the Daily Mail claimed nowhere in President Biden’s speech on April 22 during the “Virtual Leaders’ Summit on Climate” did he announce any attempt to impose a curb on red meat consumption.

Donald Trump Jr ran with the story tweeting, I’m pretty sure I ate 4 pounds of red meat yesterday. that is going to be a hard NO for me.”

Trump Jr also attacked Biden on his Instagram over red meat consumption, but Instagram flagged it as misinformation.

Controversial Rep. Lauren Boebert ran with the story as if it were facts as well and tweeted out, “Joe Biden’s climate plan includes cutting 90 percent of red meat from our diets by 2030. They want to limit us to about four pounds a year. Why doesn’t Joe stay out of my kitchen?”

Boebert’s ally QAnon believing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene also took to Twitter to mock the false proposal. “The Hamburglar. ‘No burgers for thee, but just for me,” she wrote.

Fox Business host Larry Kudlow, a Fox Business host, also pushed the false story. Kudlow stated that Biden’s Green New deal would mean no burgers on the 4th of July and people would be forced to grill Brussel sprouts instead.
“Now, I’m making fun of this because I intend to make fun of it. This kind of thing is stupid. It comes from a bunch of ideological zealots who don’t care one whit about America’s well-being. Not one whit,” Kudlow said.

Social media users were quick to jump on the opportunity to mock the media outlet and those who fell for the story.
“In children’s terms, the study found that if people reduce meat-eating by a lot, emissions would fall a lot. Daily Mail was like…Biden wants to cut emissions by a lot. Therefore, he’ll force people to reduce meat-eating by the same amount this random study looked at,” wrote CNN journalist Daniel Dale. The journalist shared screengrabs of the January 2020 study by the University of Michigan.

“This is a complete lie and I’ve seen it no less than five times this morning already. The Biden plan includes no such thing,” said another user. “If you care to have a taxonomy of what happened, Biden announced a goal to cut emissions by 2030. It didn’t include anything about how Americans’ consumption would change, so the Daily Mail more or less made some things up and threw them in an infographic.”
