Donald Trump Jr. is making headlines after a questionable comment he made on Tuesday night.
This during a campaign rally for his father Pres. Donald Trump in Erie, Pennsylvania.
As Trump Jr. took aim at the U.S. military and their continued presence in Afghanistan. He alleged that Pres. Trump questioned military brass “why we’re still in Afghanistan.” And he claimed there was no good answer. Trump Jr. went on to charge that ‘The end goal is they want a board seat at Raytheon,’
While referring to a big time American defense contracting company. More specifically specializing in aerospace and defense. Which implies they are looking to find a cushy landing spot.
A reckless type of claim for him to make. And especially as the president has been met with allegations he previously had derided U.S. armed forces members. A charge coming from The Atlantic last month.
Liz Goodwin of The Boston Globe added, “Trump’s defense secretary, who he gets to pick, was a Raytheon lobbyist,” That is quite a zinger.
The president’s namesake then set his sights on rival Democrats. Trump Jr. dissed them as he compared the Democratic National Convention to “an ‘I hate America zoom call,” Clearly, no love is lost. He didn’t stop with that as Trump Jr. delighted in the possibility of making ‘liberals cry again.’
With less than two weeks to go until Election Day, Trump and DNC presidential nominee Joe Biden are in the final stretch of this race. A final debate is set for Thursday night at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.
A number of ex-military officials have come forward speaking out against Pres. Trump in recent weeks. Some believe he is unfit for the job. An allegation that is now echoed from both sides of the aisle.
Does Trump Jr. make a valid point? Why is the U.S. still stationed there?
