One of the biggest deceptions of the twenty-first century was the notion, developed entirely by the creators of The Apprentice, that Donald Trump was a business genius.
Indeed, his tenure in the White House demonstrated that he was never a brilliant businessman or a brilliant person in general, but that he was, in layman’s words, a giant fucking moron.
Obviously, the supporting examples are numerous, but a brief sampling includes his recommendation that people inject household cleaner into their veins; his suggestion that we stop hurricanes by dropping nuclear bombs on them; his decision to look directly at a solar eclipse without wearing protective eyewear; and his belief that windmills cause cancer.
Regrettably for his offspring, ignorance seems to be a dominant feature.
Due to their intent on hogging the limelight, we know that his three oldest children are also not the brightest lights.
Robert Mueller notoriously deemed Donald Trump Jr. to be too ignorant to conspire with the Russians.
Ivanka Trump apparently believed — and could not be persuaded differently — that the terms “libertarian” and “liberal” were synonymous.
Eric Trump, on the other hand…well, we’ll let him speak for himself.
“Sean, she said literally on video…‘I’m going to go into office every single day, I’m gonna sue Trump, and then I’m gonna go home,’” Eric complained to Sean Hannity on Monday night, referencing New York attorney general Letitia James, who is investigating the Trump Organization.
“Meaning, she ran on the campaign promise of suing my father because she didn’t believe in his political party, because she didn’t like us, because the people in Washington, D.C., told her to do that. It violates the Constitution, it’s unethical, it’s wrong, and you don’t need to take it from me. I mean, listen to the dozens of videos where, ‘I’m gonna get him,’ ‘I’m gonna get his children,’ ‘I’m gonna take him down,’ ‘he’s gonna know my name personally,’ ‘he’s gonna know Tish James,’ ‘I’m gonna follow his money.’ This is what you’d expect from Russia, this is what you’d expect from Venezuela. This is third-rate stuff.”
Just to clarify…it is not a violation of the Constitution for a prosecutor to investigate someone and their company, especially if there is already a substantial amount of evidence of suspected misconduct.
Furthermore, a certain someone was unconcerned with what the Constitution said while he was attempting to convince his Vice President to reverse the results of a free and fair election.
Of course, it’s not a shock that the former president’s son would go off the deep end and say something foolish about James’s inquiry, given (1) the part about the Trumps being dimwitted, and (2) the fact that they’re plainly anxious about the investigation.
For example, last week, a lawyer for Ivanka and Don Jr. indicated in a court filing that neither would cooperate with James’ subpoenas, and on Monday, Trump asked a federal judge to halt the investigation, which is examining whether the Trump Organization inflated the value of its assets to attract lenders and then deflated them when it came time to pay taxes.
“Letitia James has demonstrated an astounding disregard for prosecutorial ethics and has routinely used her position to malign the former president by turning an unfounded investigation into a public spectacle,” Trump’s motion, which was clearly not written by the totally incoherent ex-president, stated. “In doing so, she has exposed the vindictive and self-serving nature of her actions.”
Later, an attorney for Trump went on television and referred to James as a “sick person,” which we must presume was a quote from her client.
In response to the requested injunction, James said in a statement: “The Trump Organization has continually sought to delay our investigation into its business dealings. To be clear, neither Donald Trump nor the Trump Organization get to dictate if and where they will answer for their actions. Our investigation will continue undeterred because no one is above the law, not even someone with the name Trump.”
