Some curious comments were made on a Fox News special show titled, “Witch Hunt: The Flynn Vindication” Sunday night. This program presented by network legal analyst Gregg Jarrett.
Ex-Whitewater prosecutor Robert Ray expects to see criminal charges in U.S. Attorney John Durham’s inquiry into the Russia investigation. He argued, “It is a criminal investigation with grand jury authority, and I don’t think the attorney general expects this is going to be just left to the side of history without actual prosecutions being brought to hold those responsible accountable.”
And stated, “Even if no felony prosecution is ever brought as a result of this, this is a political scandal of the highest order, and the American people should be paying attention.”
Ray announced, “I imagine there are people who are in the know who may well have knowingly withheld information from the court and from defense counsel in connection with the Michael Flynn prosecution.”
As he concluded, “If it turns out that that can be proved then there are going to be referrals and potential false statements, and/or perjury prosecutions to hold those, particularly those in positions of authority, accountable.”
In addition as The Washington Examiner told:
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, said fresh criminal referrals are imminent as more people come forward with information about what Trump allies view to have been a plot to undermine the president.
Nunes says Mueller should have shut down his investigation right away, arguing that the former FBI director knew from the day he became special counsel in May 2017 that there was no coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin.
Nunes also expressed, “We’ve also expanded our investigation into the Mueller team and everything that happened with Mueller and the people at DOJ and FBI that were above Mueller. And so, we will be making criminal referrals in the coming weeks against the Mueller team. We’re just now putting that together and, of course, as always, waiting on more documents that we really need to come out.” Now it seems the tables have turned.
