Former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton hit out and hammered rival Republicans on a recent podcast.
She left no question her belief was they gave Pres. Donald Trump license to act with impunity.
The two-time First Lady told New York Times’ Kara Swisher of her view. Mrs. Clinton further claimed most Republicans “have been cowards, spineless enablers” of the president. Plus they are likely fed up with Trump. And are ready to see him go.
She announced, “Most Republicans are going to want to close the page. They want to see him gone as much as we do, but they can’t say it publicly.” A bold statement given Trump’s high approval rating within the Republican Party. Could she be on to something there?
When speaking on the subject of this pandemic, Mrs. Clinton asserted that she would be able to navigate through dangerous times. “I have no doubt, especially if it were me. I have no doubt. I mean, I was born for that.” An apparent jab at Pres. Trump. Here we are four years after they met in 2016 and the rivalry rages on.
In addition, she “can’t entertain the idea of him winning. … It would cause cognitive dissonance of a grave degree.” Mrs. Clinton still haunted by results of the last presidential election.
She also expressed: “[I]t makes me literally sick to my stomach to think that we’d have four more years of this abuse and destruction of our institutions. And damaging of our norms and our values. And lessening of our leadership. And the list goes on.”
Trump of course has been relentless in his attacks on her since then. Just recently he ordered Sec. of State Mike Pompeo to release her cache of infamous emails. Which total more than 30,000 from a private server.
Trump is clearly much better at making peace overseas than at home.
