As of today there have been more than 300 former Trump administration officials, employees, or staffers that have come out against the current regime.
These people have seen first hand what the Trump administration is doing behind the scenes and it speaks volumes that they are speaking out. Especially now, almost 2 months away from the general election. But none have been more poignant than the former Mike Pence staff member’s announcement.

Who is Olivia Troye?
Olivia Troye was Mike Pence’s homeland security, coronavirus, and counterterrorism adviser. She worked for Pence for 2 full years.
Not only this, but in her own words she was in “every single meeting” on the coronavirus task force side. Ultimately this is why she left and why she is speaking out now. More on that below.

We know she was in on most of these meetings as we saw her pictured next to Mike Pence during official white house business by their photographers. So there is visual evidence to her claims that confirm it.
She has gone on record saying that she is a lifelong Republican but did not say show she voted for in the 2016 election. Given her recent accusations, it’s not a stretch to say she voted for Clinton or did not vote at all.

What she said to cause so much controversy
Given her openness about voting Republican every time up until 2016, then declining to say show she voted for, what she came out with this week says pretty much all you need to know.
Troye will be voting for Joe Biden in the 2020 election. This is a huge deal.

In her interview she said, “The president’s rhetoric and his own attacks against people in his administration trying to do the work, as well as the promulgation of false narratives and incorrect information of the virus have made this ongoing response a failure.”
She concluded with, “I wished I had been more aggressive in fighting internal forces that were working against the CDC and other policies for the president’s personal agenda. I wish I would have been more aggressive with the staff on the vice president’s team and some of the president’s staff.”

Troye said that she was most disappointed with the coronavirus response from the White House and the entire Trump administration. This is why she’s speaking up.
She said that there was a “complete disregard for human life” from Trump’s response to this pandemic. Troye had enough and finally called it quits.
The White House’s dismissal of Troye
The white house released a statement on Troye that is unedited as follows. Via WaPo:
Ms. Troye is a former detailee and a career Department of Homeland Security staff member, who is disgruntled that her detail was cut short because she was no longer capable of keeping up with her day-to-day duties. Ms. Troye directly reported to me, and never once during her detail did she ever express any concern regarding the Administration’s response to the Coronavirus to anyone in her chain of command. By not expressing her concerns, she demonstrated an incredible lack of moral courage.
This from Pence’s national security adviser Lt. General Keith Kellogg.

Disgruntled seems like a bit of a stretch. Given what we know about Trump’s and his administration’s disregard for public safety, conspiracy theorizing, and general lack of empathy towards anyone during the pandemic, Troye sounds like a person that has just had enough.
Why Troye coming forward now is important
The biggest unknown is why did Troye wait until now to come forward? Why not do it earlier this year when she saw what was happening.
Her loyalty to Pence may have played a roll in this.

She stated that she still feels loyalty to the Vice President regardless of what Trump has done or said. Perhaps this is the reason she couldn’t bring herself to quiet and come forward earlier.
Maybe it has to do with the election being almost 2 months away and she felt compelled to do this now for as many people to know and hear about.

No matter the reason, this is yet another Trump administration staffer that has come out against him and his entire regime based on what they’ve done.
Or maybe, what they haven’t done. Biden can chalk up a confirmed vote here.
