Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee used Twitter to offer advice to Americans who are dealing with a shortage of toilet paper. Huckabee gave some odd advice.
“Those of us from rural south know how to handle toilet paper shortage,” Huckabee an ally of Donald Trump posted to Twitter. “Eat more corn on the cob! The corn isn’t important, but the cobs are free and work great! (Just don’t flush them!) You’re welcome!”
Stores across the country have empty shelves where the toilet paper should be. Even online stores are sold out. The toilet paper issues began when Americans began to panic about the coronavirus and being locked down so they bought toilet paper by the shopping cart full.
Major retailers like Walmart that still have a supply of toilet paper are limiting the amount you can purchase. Walmart has also placed limits on diapers, milk, eggs, baby formula, and several more items.
“We know communities are counting on us more than ever and we are determined to serve the broadest number of customers and ensure they have access to the key items they are looking for,” Dacona Smith, Walmart US chief operating officer, wrote on the company’s website.
This is Huckabee’s second tweet about the coronavirus. Back in February. Huckabee posted a crazy analogy about Trump and the deadly virus.
“If he personally sucked the virus out of the lungs of all 62K ppl affected & swam to the bottom of the ocean to spit it out, they’d complain he polluted the seas!” Huckabee tweeted back on February 28. He would then go to suggest that “the left and the media” dislike Trump more than the coronavirus.
Back on March 11, the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a pandemic. So far, more than 274,000 people around the globe have been infected and over 11,300 have died. The United States has seen 19,285 people infected so far and 249 deaths.
