A group opposing controversial Rep. Matt Gaetz has grown significantly in recent days after he disparaged the appearance of abortion-seeking women.
“Women Against Matt Gaetz” came out against the politician at a demonstration on Saturday in Niceville, Florida.

“Women have had enough of him and had enough of his mouth speaking derogatorily to women who are simply expressing their rights,” group founder Samantha Hope Herring said, according to WEAR-TV.

Women Against Matt Gaetz came out against the politician at a demonstration on Saturday in Niceville, Florida.
“Women have had enough of him and had enough of his mouth speaking derogatory to women who are simply expressing their rights,” Samantha Hope Herring, Women Against Matt Gaetz creator said.

“By speaking up, we can organize together to vote him out. That’s the number one thing we want to see happen. And we also are going to be asking Congress to censure Matt Gaetz,” she explained.
Gaetz recently faced backlash after saying abortion activists resembled “a thumb.”
“Women all feel strongly about their rights being trampled on and having no respect even Matt has a mother. Can you imagine how embarrassed she is? All people have mothers and all mothers are women,” activist Kathy White said at Saturday’s rally.
Gaetz responded by telling WEAR-TV that he “is pro-life and wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“It has gone from us just creating it to like 1,300 in two days,” Herring said. “By speaking up, we can organize together to vote him out. That’s the number one thing we want to see happen. And we also are going to be asking Congress to censure Matt Gaetz.”
Protestors spoke against the congressman’s recent comments about women who protested the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

As well as Gaetz’s recent vote against a bill that would combat human trafficking.
“Women all feel strongly about their rights being trampled on and having no respect even Matt has a mother. Can you imagine how embarrassed she is? All people have mothers and all mothers are women,” Kathy White, Okaloosa County Democratic Women’s Club president said.

Gaetz never came in contact with the protesters outside Saturday.
The congressman was brought into a side door on the other side of the building.
“There are people who go and fight for our freedoms — the freedom to protest, the freedom to dissent, and we have to remember that works both ways and we won’t be ugly to people who hold a different viewpoint,” Gaetz said.

A spokeswoman for the campaign sent a statement, claiming, among other things, that hundreds of women supported Matt Gaetz and attended his rallies on Saturday, and that they aren’t “woke activists” who spread hate online.
“Women Against Matt Gaetz” claims they will speak with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about pursuing the censure on Monday morning.

Gaetz is competing for the Republican nomination for the Florida D-1 House seat with Mark Lombardo and Greg Merk.
