Earlier this week Ivanka Trump posted a video to her Instagram page that has received major backlash.
Trump posted a video of her three children washing their hands during the coronavirus pandemic. In the video, her children Arabella, 8, Joseph 6, and Theodore 4 are seen washing their hands at a sink. Trump has been self-quarantining with her family after being exposed to a foreign diplomat who tested positive for the coronavirus. Trump was asymptomatic.
Judd Deere, the White House deputy secretary told reporters that Trump self-quarantined “out of an abundance of caution” and remained symptom-free. It was later revealed that she had been tested for COVID-19 and her results had been negative and she was cleared to return to work.
For the last few weeks and amid the coronavirus pandemic, Trump has been sharing videos on her social media accounts. This latest video, which was posted on Thursday, has received major backlash.
In the video, Trump’s three children can be seen washing their hands with their father Jared Kushner to the ABCs for the recommended 20 seconds. The demonstration was accompanied by a PSA caption.
” We ALL have a role to play to slow the spread! Wash your hands,” Trump wrote, She then added, “(ohhh…and turn off the sink with your elbow or a towel while you do to save [water] … still a work in progress with these guys 10 days in [shrug emoji).”
Instagram users were quick to point out how much water she was wasting by leaving the water on for the 20-second countdown.
