A White House insider says that Ivanka Trump had planned to attend Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20 despite her father’s anger and disapproval.
Ivanka’s plan was a self-centered one. She believed that attending Biden’s inauguration would save her aspiring political future at a time when the White House is being plunged further into chaos. One insider says the White House is currently being referred to as a “circus on steroids.”
‘Ivanka is worried that her promising political career is in jeopardy and she’s doing whatever she can to save her reputation,’ the source told the Daily Mail.
Reportedly when Donald Trump heard about Ivanka’s plans he “blew a gasket.”
“He said it’s an insult that she would even want to engage with the crooks that are trying to bring him down,” the insider stated before adding that Trump said the family has to stand together and show a united front.
“The president told his daughter that her presence at the inauguration will cost her thousands of supporters and would be the worst decision she could ever make,” the insider stated.
Reportedly, Ivanka had convinced herself that if she attended Biden’s inauguration she would come across as “being a good sport and will gain future supporters,” the source says.
“She said she has to protect her own political aspirations and isn’t about to muck it all up by attending her dad’s 2024 campaign kick-off which is set for the same day. She’s leaving that for her dad and Don Jr,” the source added.
All of this comes as Vice President Mike Pence has come under great pressure to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office.
On Monday, House Democrats unveiled articles to impeach Trump charging him with “incitement of insurrection.” The House will reportedly put it to a vote on Wednesday.
Trump’s children are reportedly desperately vying for control and White House staff members are said to be walking on “eggshells.”
‘Don Jr. and Ivanka talk over each other, which is nothing new, just escalated to the ninth degree,’ they say.
Ivanka wanted to attend the inauguration because she wanted to be “her father’s voice” the source says.
Donald Trump has made it clear that he will not be attending Biden’s inauguration. He went as far as to tweet he would not be attending before he was banned from Twitter.
“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th,’’ Trump had tweeted on Friday.
This is the first time that a sitting president has not attended the swearing-in of his successor since 1869 when President Andrew Johnson snubbed Ulysses S Grant.
Ivanka came under fire on Wednesday for referring to rioters who smashed their way into the Capitol building as “patriots” in a tweet. Social media users were quick to condemn her post and Ivanka deleted the tweet.
Pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol just minutes after Donald Trump addressed that at the “Stop the Steal” rally and told them to “march to Congress” and stop the verification of the Electoral College votes.
Despite the fact that the rioters broke into the Capitol by scaling its walls, breaking windows and doors Donald Trump watched the events take place from the safety of the White House and refused to ask his supporters to stop or condemn their actions.
A White House insider stated that Trump watched the insurrection on TV while he stuffed his face with cheeseburgers and Coca-Cola.
When Trump did become furious over what he saw it was not over the five individuals that lost their lives, or the threat to lawmakers, or even the damage to the Capitol it was because he thought his supporters looked “poor” and “stupid’ and were making him “look bad.”
At one point a top aide went to Melania Trump to ask her to speak to her husband and convince him to condemn what was taking place and tell his supporters to stop. Melania was too busy doing a photoshoot for a book she is working on to be bothered.
Ivanka spoke to her father about making a statement and soon after he shared a pre-recorded video on Twitter. At no time did he condemn the rioter’s actions or ask them to stop instead he told called them “patriots.”
A few hours later, Ivanka was angered and embarrassed by a tweet made by her sister-in-law, supermodel Karlie Kloss. Kloss is married to Jared Kushner’s brother.
“Accepting the results of a legitimate democratic election is patriotic. Refusing to do so and inciting violence is anti-American,” Kloss tweeted.
Ivanka is said to have been left ‘surprised and hurt’ by Kloss’s comments.
