Joseph Maldonado-Passage, who is better known to the world as Joe Exotic, has used his Facebook page to ask Donald Trump Jr. to help him get a federal pardon.
Maldonado-Passage’s posted a series of letters to Donald Trump Jr on his personal Facebook page. In the letter, he asked Trump Jr. If he would meet with his attorneys.
In the letter, Maldonado-Passage writes, “If your father can find it in your heart to see what millions around the world saw and that is I’m innocent and grant me a pardon.”
Maldonado-Passage is serving 22 years for 2 counts of murder for hire and more than a dozen other crimes.
Maldonado-Passage’ s zoo, the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma, has had a spotlight shined on it by PETA and now the zoo faces two animal welfare investigations.
PETA released a statement that tigers at the zoo are suffering from severe cases of “flystrike,” which is a condition in which “flies, usually drawn to animal waste, bite other animals and lay eggs on them and the hatched maggots feed on their skin—or biting flies feed on an animal’s blood and inflict relentless pain and discomfort.” PETA’s observation was paired with photos and video footage of young lions with visible skin irritation and injuries.
The non-profit organization says that it obtained the evidence from “a concerned citizen,” and has had veterinarians confirm that the conditions are “causing serious damage to the juvenile tigers.”
PETA has requested that animals at the zoo found to be suffering terribly be removed. The organization also requested that Jeff Lowe’s license to exhibit the animals be revoked. Lowe acquired Exotic’s zoo after he was imprisoned and found guilty of transporting exotic animals and killing five tiger cubs, among other offenses.
