Kathy Griffin is in the hospital with “unbearably painful” symptoms. The comedian shared her coronavirus journey and criticized Trump’s failure to properly respond to the pandemic.
In a tweet in which she replies to a tweet by Trump, the comedian accused Trump of lying about the number of tests that the United States has performed. The coronavirus has killed more than 1,000 in the U.S. and it continues to spread all across the globe.
“I was sent to the #COVID19 isolation wardroom in a major hospital ER from a separate urgent care facility,” Griffin tweeted on Wednesday, “The hospital couldn’t test me for #coronavirus because of CDC (Pence task force) restrictions. #TESTTESTTEST”
Along with her tweet, Griffin posted two photographs. One of the images shows the 59-year-old in a hospital room with glass doors and the other shows her wearing a protective mask on her mouth and nose.
If she tests positive for the coronavirus she will join a growing list of celebrities that have been diagnosed including Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Idris Elba, Debi Mazar, Daniel Dae Kim, Andy Cohen, and Nyle DiMarco.
Griffin and Trump have butted heads in the past. She received a lot of backlash for a satirical photo she had taken. The photo showed Griffin holding a severed head that strongly resembled Donald Trump. The image even resulted in a federal investigation.
A representative for Griffin did not confirm Griffin’s current health condition.
