Self-styled “King of All Media” Howard Stern sounded off Monday on Pres. Donald Trump and his current battle with covid-19.
Stern took aim and blasted him for holding a Supreme Court nomination ceremony the prior weekend.
President Donald Trump staged a formal announcement event in the Rose Garden last Saturday. This for his nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court.
A number of White House insiders who attended have since tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The New York shock jock stated, “I’m watching this thing, and it hits me all of a sudden and I start comparing it to Jonestown, I’m sitting in my house, I’m wearing masks, I’m quarantining,” the veteran shock jock added. “I say to myself, ‘How is it they think they’re not going to get COVID?’”
Stern referring to The People’s Temple Agricultural Project or what is known as Jonestown. A religious cult from the west coast that settled in South America’s Guyana. Led by their purported prophet Jim Jones, who promised them a utopia.
Well, it was unfortunately just an illusion. As things soon deteriorated around Jonestown, a sad and tragic end would follow.
In late 1978, over 900 followers died after he ordered them to drink cyanide-spiked punch. Which Stern seemingly equates to Judge Barrett’s announcement event.
Among those diagnosed are former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway. Along with First Lady Melania Trump. Plus ex-New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. As well as GOP senators Mike Lee of Utah and Thom Tillis from North Carolina.
Also Trump assistant Hope Hicks, 2020 campaign manager Bill Stepien, and the latest as of today, White House Press Sec. Kayleigh McEnany.
The top DJ declared, “it’s not even the disinterest in the virus, not even the lies about the virus, but the disdain for people who are trying to stay alive, the utter disdain for seeing people in their masks and laughing at them. And I’m like, ‘What is going on? What bizzaro universe am I living in?’”
President Trump was released from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center back to the White House at dusk.
Howard Stern was also vocal against Trump recently after the first presidential debate, saying he was left embarrassed and feeling “dirty” after watching the first presidential debate.
“I would have walked off that stage within five f–king minutes,” Stern said. “I would have made my statement and said ‘Get the f–k out of here.’ I’m not going to sit here and be part of a f–king circus. I’m not on a reality television show,” Stern said.
Stern added that he was ashamed for both candidates as well as moderator Chris Wallace. He went on to compare Wallace to Andy Cohen the host of “Real Housewives.”
“It was embarrassing. I felt dirty,” Stern said. “I felt like my country is losing. Everything about this felt dirty and filthy.”
Stern had to get up earlier the morning after the debate because his show started at 7 a.m. and shared that he had an extremely hard time falling asleep that night.
“That debate ruined me,” he added on Wednesday. “I’m sweating now thinking about it.”
Stern does note that the 90-minutes of drama and hysteria that took place between Trump and Biden was hard to look away from, but added this type of debate was no way to choose a leader.
“’The View’ has less fighting,” he said.
Stern said that he saw no reason to go on with the two remaining debates and called for them to be canceled.
“It’s no joke to me,” Stern said. “I think this election is important.”
“I personally think Donald is very afraid of being embarrassed by losing and that’s his out,” Stern suggested. “If he loses he’s going to be able to say ‘It was all rigged it was all fake, all these ballots are controlled by the Democrats somehow,” Stern said. “I don’t know how they’re controlling all the ballots, but somehow it gives him his pride. He’s able to say well ok, I lost, but not really. I really won.”
