Controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has been offered cookies and a history book by the leaders of Guam. The offer comes after Greene falsely suggested that the U.S. territory was a foreign country and did not deserve aid.
On Tuesday, comments that Greene made during the Conservative Political Action Conference in Florida back in late February surfaced.
“I’m a regular person. And I wanted to take my regular-person, normal, everyday American values, which is, we love our country. We believe our hard-earned tax dollars should just go for America, not for what? China, Russia, the Middle East, Guam, whatever, wherever.”
Guam delegate Michael San Nicolas stated that “Congresswoman Greene is a new member, and we will be paying a visit to her and delivering delicious Chamorro Chip Cookies as part of our ongoing outreach to new members to introduce them to our wonderful island of Guam.”
The office of Guam’s governor offered Greene educational resources.
“We would be more than happy to send Representative Greene’s office a copy of ‘Destiny’s Landfall: A History of Guam,'” Krystal Paco-San Agustin, the director of communications for the governor.
Guam, which is an island in the western Pacific Ocean, has been a US territory since 1898. Guam’s residence is U.S. citizens who pay federal taxes. Guam has many members that serve in the U.S. military. Guam is considered to be of vital strategic importance to the U.S.
Back in 2017, North Korea threatened the territory. Earlier this week the top US commander in the Indo-Pacific earlier called for upgrading defensive capabilities on Guam, he cited threats from China.
Residents of Guam cannot vote for president and do not have a vote in Congress. Guam sends a nonvoting delegate to Congress. Guam is home to more than 170,000 people.
Greene has repeatedly made headlines for her actions. She angered social media users after posting a video in which she called individuals with Down Syndrome a slur word.
Recently a video of her surfaced and quickly gone viral for all of the wrong reasons.
The video first resurfaced on Twitter where it was shared by Resist Programming. In the video clip, Greene can be seen carrying a cardboard cutout of Donald Trump to the stage.
The meeting she is speaking at appears to be related to the Republican Party in some way. She places the life-sized cardboard cutout down. She then places her hands on it and says “He’s good, he’s fantastic” before reaching down to the crotch area and rubbing her hand around. You can hear some attendees burst into laughter.

As the video goes on Green can be heard making bizarre claims.
“The Democrat party is no longer an American party… they have turned so far left, they are now an un-American party, and they are trying desperately to change our country.”
She then added, “We need to unmask America. I express my views we need to re-up an America, I express my views as a mother that masks are not good for kids, they need to see their teachers’ faces, their parents’ faces, their caregivers’ faces because they need to see their smiles.”
Since the video appeared online it has been shared hundreds of thousands of times. One Twitter user commented on the “crotch rubbing” writing, “OMG! Is that how she touches real children too?”
