A statement released by the White House on Wednesday stated that First Lady Melania Trump will not be attending her office’s holiday decorations preview.
Numerous reporters received the statement that reads on next Monday, “the Office of the First Lady will host a preview of the 2020 holiday décor at the White House,” but Trump herself “will not be in attendance.”

Melania’s absence at her final and most notable duty was quickly noted by social media users on Twitter, where many quoted her comments on an audiotape leaked by one-time best friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. In the audiotape, Melania shared her dislike for decorating the White House for Christmas.

“I’m working … my a– off at Christmas stuff that you know, who gives a f– about Christmas stuff and decoration? But I need to do it, right? Correct?” asked Trump in a conversation with Wolkoff.
The audiotape that was recorded in 2018, included Melania complaining not only about her job of decorating the White House for the holiday but the media’s coverage of her role during the holidays as well.

“OK, and then I do it,” she can be heard saying, “and I say that I’m working on Christmas and planning for the Christmas and they said, ‘Ooh what about the children that they were separated? ‘Give me an f—ing break. Where they were saying anything when Obama did that?”
On Monday, Melania wrote on Twitter that she was “excited” to start decorating this year.
Melania bowing out of her final duty as a First Lady shouldn’t be too surprising it is what the Trumps do. Instead of living up to their responsibilities they bail or push them off on others. Melania may believe that she is saving face by skipping the event, but instead, she is coming off as petty. Fortunately, this will be Trump’s final Christmas in the White House.
Decorating the White House will be Melania’s last major job as the first lady. Dr. Jill Biden will step into the role in mid-January.
This year’s White House Christmas tree is an 18.5 ft tall Fraser Fir. The giant tree was delivered by a wagon pulled by Clydesdale horses, named Ben and Winston. The tree came from Shepherdstown, West Virginia.

Melania walked all around the tree inspecting it. The tree will sit inside the White House’s Blue Room.
“Merry Christmas,” she said as she smiled for cameras during the short event.
Melania posted about the arrival of the White House tree on Twitter and was immediately mocked for her recorded comments.
Talia Sadote replied to Melania’s tweet with, “Thankfully we all know exactly how excited you truly are… In your own words.”
“Shouldn’t you be busy packing? It will be super cool having a First Lady that isn’t an ex-prostitute,” tweeted @TheRainReturns.
Twitter user Erika Lyn responded, “Maybe you should say something comforting to the families of the 255,076+ victims of Covid who won’t be there to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones this year because of your husband’s ineptitude.”
Karl M Koons tweeted, “No sh*t. No mask. What a display of disrespect for everybody else who was wearing one.”
Twitter user Justice is Coming wrote, “We are excited that this will be the last Christmas at the White House that lacks complete taste.”
Social media has had a field day lately with Donald and Melania Trump, such as when a large moving truck was spotted parked in front of the White House.

A video clip of a moving van parked outside the steps of the White House caused a feeding frenzy on social media recently. Many social media users joked that Melania was jumping ship.

Donald Trump is preparing not to surrender to Joe Biden. He has already started several lawsuits against several states. As the image of the moving van was spread across social media platforms users mocked Trump’s relentlessly.
Referring to Melania one social media user wrote, “she completely decided in favor of Biden. She didn’t need 4 additional long periods of this.”
Straighoutofcontext was the first to share the clip online tweeting “I’m taking this live shot of the White House, with a moving truck outside, as a good omen.”
