Award-winning director Michael Moore zoomed in on rival President Donald Trump Sunday.
The famed filmmaker from Flint, Michigan gave his take while appearing on MSNBC.
Moore claimed that Trump has done great damage to his own prospects for a second term. Mainly, because of how he’s handled the ongoing pandemic. Still Moore tempers those words with caution. And warns it is way too early for anyone to start celebrating.
Also he declared that, Democrats shouldn’t get complacent because in order to beat Trump in the electoral college, “there has to be a tsunami.”
As for what is different than four years ago, he stated the media is playing things “so careful now.” A point that might be up for debate. Then Moore went on to question the president and his motives.
“You’ve got a president that has done everything he can to lose, to the point where I’ve been wondering some days, does he really want to win?” Trump said to be exhibiting some erratic behavior lately.
Plus Moore added, “Any other president would have seized the [covid-19], taken the reins, and tried to have been the hero, especially when this was killing his largest demographic in 2016 was over 65.”
“Instead of coming to their aid and defense, he let them die. Now we’re having this huge wave, the largest day ever with [corona] was, I think, Friday.”
After discussing a prediction concerning the number of deaths could increase, Moore said, “Why Trump would be killing off his voters, historians and political scientists are going to have to figure this out in the future.”
The acclaimed movie maker with a long list of notable credits. Among them:. Roger and Me, Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 9/11 and Sicko. Moore won an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature in 2003 with Bowling for Columbine.
A question that deserves an answer.
The Academy Award winning Moore sounded the alarm just weeks ago about Donald Trump’s base of supporters. The Flint, Michigan native posted on Facebook:
“Sorry to have to provide the reality check again, but when CNN polled registered voters in August in just the swing states, Biden and Trump were in a virtual tie. In Minnesota, it’s 47-47. In Michigan, where Biden had a big lead, Trump has closed the gap to 4 points.”
Plus he added, “Are you ready for a Trump victory? Are you mentally prepared to be outsmarted by Trump again? Do you find comfort in your certainty that there is no way Trump can win?”
“Are you content with the trust you’ve placed in the DNC to pull this off? The Biden campaign just announced he’ll be visiting a number of states— but not Michigan. Sound familiar?”
Then cautioned, “I’m warning you almost 10 weeks in advance. The enthusiasm level for the 60 million in Trump’s base is OFF THE CHARTS! For Joe, not so much. Don’t leave it to the Democrats to get rid of Trump.”
“YOU have to get rid of Trump. WE have to wake up every day for the next 67 days and make sure each of us are going to get a hundred people out to vote. ACT NOW!”
Moore also had expressed, “Biden does not generate the necessary enthusiasm that it’s going to take to get people out,” as he shared with Vanity Fair.
“The Democrats are cynically counting on everyone’s desire to remove Trump.”
In addition, “The Democratic establishment ditched Biden back in January when he was losing everything so badly. What’d they do? They changed the debate rules to let Bloomberg in. They were so desperate. They were ready to dump Biden like a hot potato, and they will do it again if they need to.”
The polls close in less than a week. Time will tell if Michael Moore was correct.
