Rocker Tommy Lee has vowed to leave the United States if Donald Trump is reelected.
“Dude, I swear to God if that happens then I’m coming over to visit the U.K.,” Lee told The Big Issue.
“I’m out of here. I’ll go back to my motherland, go back to go to Greece, and get a house on one of the islands.” Lee was born in Athens but was raised in California.
Lee, 58, told the magazine that having Trump as president makes the United States “embarrassing” for the rest of the world.
“I feel like people in Europe and the rest of the world look at America and think: ‘What the f— are you guys doing over there?’ ” Lee added. “Stop voting for celebrities and get someone real to run the country.”
Before Trump was elected in 2016 dozens of Hollywood celebrities said they would flee the country if he was elected. Former “Girls” actress Lena Dunham said at the time, “I know a lot of people have been threatening to do this, but I really will. I know a lovely place in Vancouver.”
Miley Cyrus even stated on Instagram that “I am moving if he is president.”
Despite the chaotic political landscape or health pandemic that postponed Mötley Crüe’s planned stadium tour, playing in front of audiences is what keeps Lee optimistic.
“I can just imagine what it’s going to be like being on stage with that many people and that energy when it’s OK to be together again,” Lee said. “It’s going to be priceless – that kind of energy I’m probably never going to see again in my lifetime. Can you imagine what that’s going to be like? Holy shit!”
Lee’s first solo album titled “Andro” will be released on October 16. The album includes guests Lukas Rossi, Brooke Candy, Josh Todd, and Mickey Avalon.
Rock star Stevie Nicks also has drastic plans for her future if Trump win his re-election bid. She told this to Variety in a recent interview. And it included an absolutely unearthly contingency plan. She was doing the interiew to promote her new single “Show Them the Way.”
More specifically on her plans she is contemplating leaving the United States if President Donald Trump wins re-election. And not just moving out of the country.
Nicks even thinking about venturing out into space. “I go, like, well, if this starts over and there’s another four years of this, then I’m going — but we’re not welcome anywhere. So where can I go? And I’m thinking: Oh, space. Maybe I can talk Elon Musk into giving us a jet and letting me pick 50 people.”
The spellbinding singer is best known for her time with “Fleetwood Mac.” Nicks helped them to achieve unprecedented success during the 1970’s, along with her then-partner lead guitarist Lindsey Buckingham.
Her top hits include: Landslide, Rhiannon, Gold Dust Woman, Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around (with Tom Petty) and Dreams. Fleetwood Mac famously performed their hit Dont Stop at the 1992 Democratic National Convention for future President William Jefferson Clinton.
Nicks says the current climate, “It’s like I’ve built a thin shield of magical plastic around me, you know? Because I don’t want my career to be over. I don’t want to not pull on those leather boots again.”
Her fellow show biz legend Cher made a similar statement several years ago. As the award-winning actress announced she might move to Jupiter if Trump was elected. Cher is a leading figure in the left wing Trump resistance movement. In addition to her Hollywood peers director Rob Reiner, entertainer Bette Midler, actor Robert DeNiro, among others. As tensions keep cranking up, don’t be surprised if others follow suit.
Hollywood icon Rob Reiner took aim at President Donald Trump in recent days. The legendary “All in the Family” star sacked Trump telling his days of freedom are numbered. As Reiner took to Twitter and he posted:
“Donald Trump has essentially shot and killed 100s of thousands Americans on 5th Ave, continues to do it every day, and he’s right, his cult doesn’t care. But the rest of US do. In 42 days we will arrest the killer.”
