Frank Miller’s new “Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child” comic book has a political twist. The comic book depicts the villain the Joker campaigning for Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.
Trump is not mentioned by name, but he receives aid from the infamous villain as well as Superman’s nemesis Darkseid where he is seeking re-election as governor instead of the presidency.
Trump’s likeness can be seen in campaign posters and other merchandise. There is even a Trump puppet that the Joker uses.
In the comic book, the Darkseid recruits the Joker to join Trump’s political campaign as an “agent of chaos.” The goal is to “destroy humanity’s faith in itself” so they can conquer the world. The Joker is in charge of overseeing the campaign’s digital team, which is made up entirely of child minions that resemble the Joker.
At one point the Joker is wearing an American-flag-themed coat with writing on the back that read, “I really don’t care, do U?” Which of course is a reference to the infamous coat that Melania Trump wore while visiting a migrant detention center at the Mexico border.
The comic also includes an image of several pictures drawn by children that feature Trump doing different acts including building a wall and sitting on a plane throwing cash away.
Batwoman also appears in the comic and in one scene is seen battling Joker-looking thugs and is helped by Batman-masked protestors as the two mobs collide.
