On Tuesday, US Vice President Joe Biden accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of attempting to sabotage the 2022 congressional elections by distributing “misinformation.”
“Look at what Russia is doing already about the 2022 elections and misinformation,” Biden stated during a trip to the office of the director of national intelligence near Washington.
“It’s a pure violation of our sovereignty,” he added.
He then blasted Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Putin has “a real problem, he is sitting on top of an economy that has nuclear weapons and nothing else,” Biden said. “He knows he is in real trouble, which makes him even more dangerous in my view.”
The US president also expressed alarm about the recent rise in cyberattacks, particularly ransomware, which encrypts victims’ data and then demands money in exchange for access to be restored.
“If we end up in a war, a real shooting war, with a major power, it’s going to be as a consequence of a cyber breach,” Biden said.
In the fall of 2022, the United States will hold midterm elections, with all seats in the House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate on the ballot.
Washington recently accused Beijing of being behind the big Microsoft Exchange hack in March, and the White House has frequently urged Russia to combat ransomware assaults that originate within the country.

According to recently leaked documents, Russian President Vladimir Putin has serious blackmail leverage over Donald Trump, which is why he personally authorized Kremlin espionage services to act behind Trump’s back to help him win the presidency.
Experts believe the documents were leaked from a meeting of Russia’s national security council on January 22, 2016, and refer to “some occurrences” that took place during Trump’s “non-official visits to Russian Federation territory” in the years prior to entering politics.
Social media users deduced that the released documents matched the Steele dossier’s most lurid details.
Larry G Jr.tweeted, “Everything we had believed in the past 5 years about Putin manipulating US media & electoral processes to place a “mentally unstable” Trump in the Oval was true, according to leaked Kremlin documents. Moscow’s official docs even mention the existence of longtime Trump kompromat.”
Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov today dismissed the report as “a great pulp fiction”. Independent experts say the documents accurately reflect Kremlin security thinking and chain of command. The security council – or Sovbez in Russian – is analogous to the Politburo

The Sad Truth tweeted, “BREAKING: New reporting from the Guardian reveals that Putin did indeed have compromising material on Trump from non-official visits to Moscow prior to his presidency. Russia… if you’re listening, Release the pee tape.”
Also confirmed that Putin wanted Trump as president because Trump is mentally unstable and Putin knew he would dominate bilateral talks

He then added in a second tweet, “Also confirmed that Putin wanted Trump as president because Trump is mentally unstable and Putin knew he would dominate bilateral talks.”
The longtime Trump critic George Conway responded with, “So the @guardianis reporting that, according to Kremlin documents found to be genuine by Western intelligence agencies, in 2016 the Russians believed Trump was “mentally unstable,” that they had kompromat on him, and that his election would lead to “social turmoil” in the U.S.”
And so the Russians used "all possible force" to see that Trump got elected. https://t.co/ilS68CPEpw
