President Donald Trump always says what he means. Or at least that is what he and the GOP would like you to believe. On numerous occasions, President Trump has gone back on his word, said one thing and then another, and also denying he has ever said things even though there’s documented proof otherwise. This course of thought and public display of flip-flopping shows that our current president is not only two faced, but also a compulsive liar.
Now to be fair, this is a pretty common presidential trait. And diving even further down that rabbit hole, it’s a pretty common politician trait as well. However, given the scrutiny and polarization of Trump everything he says is elevated to a “breaking news” level of hype. He’s obviously brought that on himself with the amount of Twitter posts he does and apparent policy choosing he does based on it.
So for him to say the following and for it to get absolutely zero press about it is slightly staggering in my honest opinion. During his recent trip to the United Kingdom (UK), President Trump met with the Queend of England. This is not news because when a foreign dignitary or politician of high standing visits the UK, they usually meet the Queen, or the Prime Minister (PM). But What Trump said to here was the real story. Right-wing news outlet Breitbart reported:
“Is it me or is it the country? Our country loves your country. I love your country,” President Trump told Mr Morgan in the pre-recorded interview taped within the Churchill War Rooms bunker complex beneath Westminster.”
Now he didn’t literally say that to her face, but you can be certain those words made it to the Queen’s ears. And he may have said it in private conversations with her that were not taped or pre-recorded. But here’s the thing. Trump doesn’t love the UK. Nor is the relationship with the UK all that good because of him being president. It’s quite the opposite.
During his visit, Trump was met with protest after protest with some going as far as to make a float of him sitting on a toilet in a metaphorical attempt to parallel his policy and public choices.

But this isn’t part of the lie. It only further the point. The lie is that Trump loves the UK. That’s the real story here. Because he doesn’t and he’s said so on several occasions. Like this tweet about why the UK is bad because they allow CNN to be broadcast.
Just arrived in the United Kingdom. The only problem is that @CNN is the primary source of news available from the U.S. After watching it for a short while, I turned it off. All negative & so much Fake News, very bad for U.S. Big ratings drop. Why doesn’t owner @ATT do something?

Or how about this one about his continuing feud with London Mayor Sadiq Kahn.
….Kahn reminds me very much of our very dumb and incompetent Mayor of NYC, de Blasio, who has also done a terrible job – only half his height. In any event, I look forward to being a great friend to the United Kingdom, and am looking very much forward to my visit. Landing now!

Or there’s the fact that he reportedly called American Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle “nasty.” The list goes on and we could dive deeper back into the Twitter archives to further the point, but I think you all get the jist.
The fact is that President Trump, once again, has lied to put up a facade to make himself look good to someone or some country that he actually hates and they hate him back. The line of thinking really doesn’t make any sense to me.
Going back to the Breitbart article, they also talk about Trump’s British roots:
“During the interview, President Trump articulated his view that due to their shared heritage and values, he considered the United Kingdom and the United States as nearly indistinguishable.
The U.S. leader, who Mr Morgan reminded viewers is “half-British” due to his Scottish mother, is enjoying his last day on a three-day State Visit…”
So you’d think that with some sort of lineage in the country, Trump would have more respect. He even said in an interview with Good Morning Britain that he truly believe he has a good relationship with the people of the UK.
'I think I have a very good relationship with the people in the United Kingdom.'
President Trump says despite the protests, he still loves the UK and its people. (After all, he is half-British!)@piersmorgan | #GMBTrump pic.twitter.com/nGp19lBCG7

I’m not sure if that’s him lying again or if it’s just pure delusion.
Regardless of how Trump’s visit went, the fact still remains that he continues to compulsively lie to foreign countries, media outlets, dignitaries, the US, the government, and himself to persuade anyone willing to listen that he is being tained in some way, shape or form.
I was thinking on this last night as I took notes for writing this article and I believe I’ve come up with the perfect word for all of this posturing and puffery. When President Trump says he loves the UK, here’s your answer…
