Donald Trump Jr. will be self-publishing a new book sometime next month. He will have a big helping hand selling the book called “Liberal Privilege.” The same powerful helping hand that helped make his last book a New York Times bestseller will be helping him again.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) will be buying up copies of his latest book and offering them to donors who contribute $75 or more. The RNC did the same thing with “Triggered” and that led to accusations that the RNC purchased the books to get it on the coveted New York Times Best Sellers List, which it succeeded at.
The New York Times Best Sellers list put a symbol beside Trump’s book, which let buyers know that it got on the list through bulk sales.
Republicans claimed that the goal was not to get it on the NYT list but to use it as a fundraising tool. The RNC reportedly spent more than $100,000 on copies of “Triggered.” Donald Trump Jr. Argued that his book would have made the bestsellers list with or without the RNC’s help.
The RNC reportedly plans to purchase “Liberal Privilege” on a rolling basis to keep up with donor demand. The RNC also stressed that Trump Jr self-published and is responsible for publishing costs.
“While I was offered a generous book deal by my previous publishers, I turned it down and decided to self-publish,” Trump Jr said in a statement. “The RNC was able to raise almost a million dollars from their fundraising campaign with my first book, ‘Triggered.’ I look forward to helping them fundraise once again for the benefit of the Republican Party.”
“Liberal Privilege” is scheduled to be released sometime in August to coincide with the Republican National Convention. The RNC, however, will get copies of the book before it hits brick and mortar stores.
“Liberal Privilege” is expected to attack Joe Biden and his family and try to breathe new life into the old Trump accusations that Hunter Biden capitalized off his father’s vice presidency.
“Don Jr.’s first book was a fundraising powerhouse for the party, and we have no doubt this book will be the same,” said Mandi Merritt, an RNC spokeswoman. “His books are highly popular with donors across the country, and the money raised will help us deliver victories in November.”
