Pres. Donald Trump might have an October surprise of his own.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made a huge announcement late on Friday. Pres. Trump’s right hand man sending shock waves through the beltway.
He sent a message telling that infamous emails of predecessor Hillary Clinton were now in his possession. All together over 30,000 total using a private email server. And he was ready to make them public.
Pompeo laughed off Trump’s criticism from a day earlier, telling that “we’ve got the emails, we’re getting them out.” Plus he announced, “We’ll get all of this information out so the American people can see it.”
Pres. Trump took aim at Pompeo a day before: “They are in the State Department but Mike Pompeo has been unable to get them out which is very sad actually,” Trump asserted, adding that “I’m not happy about him for that reason.”
It seems that Sec. Pompeo got the message.
The former first lady served under ex-President Barack Obama from 2009-2013.
Mrs. Clinton was succeeded by Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts. Then she mounted an unsuccessful bid for the White House as Democratic Party nominee in 2016.
Which is when this grudge kicked into high gear. Last week, Pres. Trump formally accused Clinton of cooking up the Russian collusion narrative.
With Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe releasing some previously classified documents on Tuesday. Those implicate Mrs. Clinton along with Obama-era CIA Director John Brennan.
Trump has even alleged that Obama and his number two in command slash DNC presidential hopeful Joe Biden were involved.
As he declared there is enough evidence to pursue a case. While pressing U.S. Attorney General William Barr publicly to proceed.
Many of the alleged emails appear to be found here.
These apparently available under the Freedom of Information Act. No doubt the president has more in his bag of tricks.
