Leader of the Senate Judiciary Committee Lindsey Graham (R-SC) made a huge announcement on Sunday. He dropped a freshly-declassified document on Sunday that showed the FBI misled Senate Intelligence on the reliability of the Steele dossier when the committee was briefed in 2018.
The Republican from South Carolina got heated. Graham said he will be calling in FBI Director Christopher Wray to tell him how the FBI briefing to the Senate Intelligence Committee was arranged and who provided it. Sen. Graham argued this “clearly shows that the FBI was continuing to mislead regarding the reliability of the Steele dossier.”
Plus he added, “It was Horowitz, during his investigation of the warrant application, found information in 2018 where the FBI was called on the Senate Intel Committee because people were getting suspicious about the subsource … at the Senate Intel Committee level and the FBI was sent over to brief them.”
And expressed, “The FBI did to the Senate Intelligence Committee what the Department of Justice and FBI had previously done to the FISA Court: mischaracterize, mislead and lie. The characterizations regarding the dossier were completely out of touch with reality in terms of what the Russian sub-source actually said to the FBI.”
As well as, “What does this mean? That Congress as well as the FISA Court was lied to about the reliability of the Russian sub-source. I will be asking FBI Director Wray to provide me all the details possible about how the briefing was arranged and who provided it.”
He also expressed, “Everybody’s throwing Comey under the bus. When I asked Sally Yates about the interview with Michael Flynn, orchestrated by Comey — Was that okay? Was the proper? — she said no, it was rogue.”
Then stated, “So you’ve got Rosenstein, now Sally Yates, saying if they knew then what they know now they wouldn’t sign the warrant application, which means they’re running away from Crossfire Hurricane, they’re dumping it all on Comey, and that’s probably the right thing to do.”
Beyond that, “I’m gonna find out who did that briefing, and whoever it is, they’re in trouble.”
