Snoop Dogg has joined Democrats to encourage voters to get out there and “drop it like it’s hot” at the ballot box.
The rapper is lending his 2004 hit, “Drop it Like it’s Hot,” to the new campaign, which was launched on Monday by the Democratic National Committee. The campaign urges voters to drop their ballots in dropbox locations.
“This is the most important election of our lifetimes and it’s my first-time voting. We need every single American to get out there and vote.”
Snoop Dogg, 48, who was born Calvin Broadus, said, “It’s time for ya’ll to drop those ballots like they’re hot — in your local dropbox. Vote early and let ‘em know our voices will be heard!”
The ad comes from Chris Robinson and is 60-seconds long, In the ad voters are seen dropping their ballots into official drop boxes in their communities while Snoop Dogg’s hit song plays in the background.
The video will play on all social media sites, Hulu, and YouTube. It will be pushed big time in battleground states like Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
Democrats are making the push to counteract Donald Trump’s efforts to stoke fear about mail-in-voting. Trump has tried to convince voters, with no evidence to back him up, that mail-in –voting will cause widespread fraud.
Trump and his allies have rallied against ballot drop-off sites claiming that they will only cause more fraud to take place.
Trump has done his best to scare off voters and Democrats hope to reach voters with the truth about the safety and reliability of mailing in or dropping off their ballots with videos like Snoop Dogg’s.
Democrats are also hoping the video will inspire first-time voters, like Snoop Dogg, to “Drop it Like it’s Hot.”
President Trump has long railed against the mail-in voting system, alleging it would create widespread fraud. Trump said during the first debate, “take a look at West Virginia, mailmen selling the ballots.”
Trump made the claim without any evidence to back it up. He also claimed that ballots with his name on it were being thrown into creeks and rivers.
The West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office told Forbes that it does not know of instances in which ballots were sold in the state, by mailmen or anyone else.
A West Virginia mailman did plead guilty to election fraud for changing several absentee request forms from Democrat to Republican. He did not alter the ballot in any way and stated that he did it only as a joke.
There is absolutely no evidence that mail carriers or any other group attempted to buy or sell votes anywhere in the U.S.
Trump made up the West Virginia story in an attempt to cast doubt about mail-in-voting. A system that Trump uses to vote. Trump and his wife Melania both vote from Washington using a mail-in ballot that is sent to Florida.

Trump also stated that West Virginia automatically sends ballots to voters, but that is not the case. Ballots must be requested by voters.
During the exchange about mail-in-voting Trump repeatedly alleged, again with no evidence, that the election was “rigged.” He also suggested the Supreme Court, including nominee Amy Coney Barrett, could “look at” the use of mail-in ballots after the election.”
West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner, a Republican released a statement about Trump’s comments.
“The timely prosecution of election fraud in the 2020 Primary election cycle in West Virginia shows that we take election fraud seriously, that the system we have in place works well. Voters should be confident that this election will be safe, secure, and fair.”
A recent poll by the Pew Research Center showed that 25%. percent of Americans believe mail-in voter fraud is a major problem. So clearly, Trump’s unfounded attacks on mail-in-voting have convinced some of his most loyal followers.
Trump has been attacking mail-in-voting for months now. Even though he and Melania have requested absentee ballots of their own from Florida.
Trump has even gone as far as putting his own face on mail-in-ballots in North Carolina as a form of advertising, while continuing to push that it’s fraudulent.
The message from Trump inside the mailer stated: “Are you going to let the Democrats silence you? Act now to stand with President Trump.”

Trump has repeatedly stated that he believes that mail-in-voting will lead to widespread voter fraud. He has refused to fund the United Postal Service hoping to render it unable to handle the rush of mail-in-votes created by the coronavirus.
