Super PAC The Lincoln Project pounded rival President Donald Trump with a newly released ad. As they took him to task over recent remarks he made about his past acquaintance Ghislaine Maxwell.
When asked about her upcoming trial, he told “I haven’t really been following it too much. I just wish her well, frankly. I’ve met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach, and I guess they lived in Palm Beach.” Plus he added, “But I wish her well, whatever it is.”
The ad features a reading in part of Maxwell’s indictment with, “Had enough? On November 3rd, It’s time to return honor and dignity to the White House.”
Senior adviser to the Lincoln Project, Tara Setmayer said in a statement. Trump has been probed on his connection with Epstein numerous times over the years. “It’s despicable to hear the president express sympathy for an accused child sex trafficker. While the country continues to grieve unspeakable loss from the Trump Administration’s failed COVID-19 response, the President wishes an alleged pedophile pimp well from the White House podium. Shameful.”
While director of press communications for Trump’s 2020 campaign Erin Perrine stated, “This is the swamp, yet again, trying to take down the duly elected president of the United States. President Trump is the leader of a united Republican Party, where he has earned 94 percent of Republican votes during the primaries, something any former president of any party could only dream of.”
More answers should be revealed in the months to follow.
