Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas was reportedly seen traveling to the Bahamas, where he avoided another weather alert for the Lone Star state.
Due to a flash flood warning for Houston and the surrounding area, Cruz advised Texans to “be prepared and heed local officials’ warnings” on Friday.

“My team and I are closely monitoring the ongoing weather,” he added in a tweet.
However, less than a day later, actor Craig Robinson revealed the Texas senator for being on his flight while appearing on The View live from the Bahamas.
Cruz may have been on the well-known vacation island when he tweeted the weather alert, according to this information.
Cruz’s Special Advisor for Communications Steve Guest responded via email when contacted for comment, calling this a “ridiculous story that has only one goal: get resistance rage clicks.”
“The Senator is in Texas after a 4-day trip in the Bahamas. We know this time of the year is hard for the angry left, but have a nice 4th of July,” he said.
Similar to Cruz’s trip to Cancun, Mexico, in February 2021, when tens of thousands of Texans were left without power due to a winter storm, this circumstance is reminiscent of that time.
“You had an interesting seatmate on your flight,” said The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg to Robinson, who is well known for his roles in The Office and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. She continued: “Who was it?”
“It was Ted Cruz…right across (from me,): the actor said laughing.
Robinson claimed that the Republican senator had been on his way to the Bahamas and was likely already there. Houston, where flash flooding was expected for Friday, is a three-hour flight from the Bahamas.
Ana Navarro, a co-host on The View, chuckled as she said, “I didn’t know there was a snow storm going on in Texas.”
Numerous people also discussed the disastrous Cancun trip on social media and responded to Cruz’s post about the weather warning.
“So… are you gonna start trading in those Jet Blue miles soon? Or are our tax dollars gonna keep funding your travels?,” tweeted author Megan Kelly Hall.

“Monitoring the weather while I sip on a Pink Lady cocktail by the pool in my Cancun hotel! Just letting the people of Texas know, I’m here for you guys,” another Twitter user joked.
“Actually, he is currently in the Bahamas,” another Twitter user replied, “but same concept.”
In an apology for last year’s Cancun escape, Cruz stated that his family’s trip to Mexico was “obviously a mistake” and that “In hindsight, I wouldn’t have done it.”
