GOP Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas tore into former FBI Director James Comey yesterday.
That coming as Comey made a virtual appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee to give his testimony on a so-called Crossfire Hurricane investigation.

Cruz took aim and fired away blasting Comey for his attempted cover up. And claimed that Comey took charge to lead a dirty inquiry into then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.
He claimed, “This investigation of the president was corrupt. The FBI and the Department of Justice were politicized and weaponized, and, in my opinion, there are only two possibilities: that you were deliberately corrupt or woefully incompetent—and I don’t believe you were incompetent.”
Plus he added, “This has done severe damage to the professionals and the honorable men and women at the FBI because law enforcement should not be used as a political weapon, and that is the legacy you’ve left.”
The Crossfire Hurricane investigation was a reported FBI counter surveillance effort looking at possible ties between Trump’s team and Russian operatives. With a focus on whether the Russians were meddling in 2016’s presidential vote to give Trump an unlawful assist.

Judiciary Committee leader Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has made it a priority for his panel to probe such related events. Even charging that people should go to prison for lying and spying.
Cruz was not even close to being done for the day. Later Wednesday evening, he appeared on CNN and duked it out with host Chris Cuomo. The two sparred on a number of issues, among them recent waves of violence sweeping the nation.

Then things took a turn for the worse. As Cruz called him out over his unflinching support of beleaguered brother and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
As the CNN personality went low and brought up an exchange where Trump allegedly dubbed Cruz’ wife ugly.
In addition to calling Cruz a liar. Could this election season get any more nasty?
