Following Meghan McCain’s departure from The View, producers are scrambling to recruit a right-wing, Trump-supporting presenter.
According to sources, the daytime talk show’s backstage is a shambles, with co-host Joy Behar expressing her disgust with potential McCain replacements.
A view insider has stated that, if ABC execs were truly brave, they would hire controversial conservatives such as Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, or Donald Trump Jr.’s ex-girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle.
After McCain leaves the show, the insider claims, they’ll need a “major shake-up” and someone who can “give the liberal ladies a run for their money.”
Guilfoyle is said to have been approached several times about joining the show.
“[Kimberly] would be great as she would literally prosecute the other members of the panel every day of the week,” they told the outlet. “One of our highest-rated episodes ever was when she stopped by the show with Don Jr.”
Producers are reportedly looking for a Republican to fill McCain’s seat. “To reach more of the possible audience at home, we need to hire a Trump Republican,” the source confessed.
Behar is apparently upset by the arrival of a new cast member and is reconsidering her stance on McCain, her on-air adversary.
“Joy Behar is openly moaning about Meghan leaving as it’s finally hit her that sometimes it is better the devil you know,” the source explained.

“Joy has only just realized that they could be getting someone much further right on the political spectrum than Meghan who won’t put up with her crap,” they added.
McCain announced her departure earlier this month, with sources claiming Whoopi Goldberg expressed her desire for her co-star to leave.
Debbie Matenopoulos, OG’s co-host, has also been mentioned as a possible replacement.
“Her rep has in fact been having conversations with senior executives at ABC News over the past few months about many things, including her participation in celebrating the 25th season of The View, and she appreciates all the interest in her returning,” Peter Capozzi told us. “Currently, she is in development on two food shows and her own lifestyle show, but she’d never say never to returning to her first television home.”
One person not in the running is guest host Ana Navarro.
“Ana Navarro is angry because she desperately wants Meghan’s job but she’s convinced they’re not going to give her a full-time seat at the table,” the source told Daily Mail.
“Ana doesn’t deserve the chair. She is not a Republican in the true sense of the word, all she does is slam people who voted for Trump,” they added.
If The View does add Guilfoyle as a host, they may be taking a big risk. Guilfoyle didn’t leave Fox News willingly she was let go after being accused of sexual harassment by an aide. Fox News was sued over the situation and had to pay out a hefty amount to the victim.
