On Saturday, Donald Trump held a GOP donors’ event at his private resort Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. During his nearly one-hour speech Trump mocked the looks of former first lady Michelle Obama. He also referred to her husband former President Barack Obama by his middle name “Hussein.”
While Trump made the comments the crowd of GOP party donors “laughed uproariously” at the former president.
The Washington Post obtained an audio recording of Trump’s speech and reports that Trump also ridiculed Michelle Obama for her support of Stacy Abrams, another black woman who has announced she will be running against Brian Kemp for governor in Georgia. Kemp is a Republican that Trump had a public falling out with.
In the audio recording Trump is heard falsely telling donors that Oprah Winfrey and another black woman, “camped out in Atlanta” in support of Stacy Abrams during the 2018 election.
Trump falsely added that Winfrey was in the Atlanta for “months,” before she turned on former president Obama and Michelle Obama.
Referring to Obama as “Hussein,” Trump told the crowd that “Barack Hussein Obama and the very beautiful Michelle Obama were there for…”
At that point, the Republican donors “laughed uproariously” at Trump for his apparent mockery of Obama’s appearance as “beautiful.”
Trump went on to call the Republican minority senate leader Mitch McConnell a “dumb son of a b**ch” for accepting the results of the 2020 presidential election. Trump also called the election results “bullsh*t.”
Trump also accused his former vice president Mike Pence of failing to overturn the election results. Pence certified the Electoral College votes in favor of now, President Joe Biden, on January 6 in front of Congress. Trump attempted to stop Pence from certifying the votes by inciting a deadly riot at the capitol that resulted in five deaths.
During his speech, Trump also attacked Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical adviser, and face of the US response to Covid, stating that Fauci was “full of crap.”
Trump is not a stranger to attacking women’s looks especially if he disagrees with them. E. Jean Carroll, who has accused Trump of raping her in a dressing room at a store in Manhattan in the 1990s was referred to by Trump as “not my type” when he denied the allegations.
Trump has a long history of attacking women by mocking their bodily functions, demeaning their looks, or at times comparing them to animals.
While president, Trump referred to the pornographic film actress Stephanie Clifford as “Horseface.”
Trump has accused women of having “fat, ugly” faces that repelled voters. He called one woman a “crazed, crying lowlife” and stated that another was a “dog” who had the “face of a pig.” He said that Hillary Clinton’s bathroom break during the 2015 presidential debate was “too disgusting” to talk about. He has repeatedly made fun of women for being overweight.
During his long-running feud with the television star Rosie O’Donnell, Mr. Trump described her as having “a fat, ugly face.”
In 1992, Trump stated that Katarina Witt, a German Olympic figure skater, would be considered attractive only “if you like a woman with a bad complexion who is built like a linebacker.”
He referred to his former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman as “that dog.”
He once stated that New York Times columnist Gail Collins had “the face of a pig.”
Trump also stated in 2015 that debate moderator Megyn Kelly was so hard on him because she was menstruating. “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”
While president he said that MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski had a “low I.Q.” and that she had been “bleeding badly from a face-lift” during a social gathering at his resort in Florida around New Year’s Eve.
