Donald Trump addressed a lot of things while he spoke to the media on Tuesday during his New Year’s Eve party at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. He told reporters that he would be happy to have a trial in the Senate following his impeachment by the House of Representatives. However, he would go on to add that he didn’t really care if there was a trial or not.
“I don’t really care. It doesn’t matter. As far as I’m concerned, I’d be very happy with a trial because we did nothing wrong,” Trump told reporters before reiterating his belief that impeachment is a hoax.
Trump also talked about the protesters at the US Embassy in Baghdad.
“I think it’s been handled very well,” he stated. “The Marines came in. We had some great warriors come in and do a fantastic job. And they were there instantaneously, as soon as we heard.”
“This will not be a Benghazi,” he then added.
Trump would then back off his previous threatening rhetoric regarding Iran, Earlier, in the day he had tweeted that Iran would “pay a very BIG PRICE” for damage to the US Embassy.
“I don’t think that would be a good idea for Iran,” Trump told reporters. “It wouldn’t last very long. Do I want to? No. I want to have peace. I like peace. And Iran should want peace more than anybody.”
Back in December, a diplomate from North Korea stated threatened that it was “entirely up to the US what Christmas gift it will select to get.” Talks between North Korea and the US have stalled.
Trump stated that he hoped that the “gift” was a “beautiful vase” and claimed that he has a “very good relationship with Kim Jong Un.”
“I think he’s a man of his word,” Trump added.
