Donald Trump spent the holiday weekend at his golf resort in Virginia. He spent time on the golf course then went on an insane retweet spree on Twitter.
His spree was bizarre even for him. He retweeted several posts mocking well-known female Democrats and he peddled baseless conspiracy theories including one about MSNBC host Joe Scarborough.
At one- point Trump shared a tweet by John Stahl in which he referred to Hillary Clinton as a “skank.” Trump would then go on and share two more of Stahl’s posts. In one post Stahl insulted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and mocked her appearance and a third Stahl retweet poked fun at Stacey Abrams weight.
Trump then pushed the baseless conspiracy theory that Joe Scarborough had something to do with the 2001 accidental death of an intern.
While Trump acted like a child online the New York Times dedicated the front page to “ All Those Who Have Lost Their Lives in the Pandemic.”
Vice president Joe Biden called the Times front page “jarring” and “heartbreaking.” As Trump was on the attack on Twitter Biden’s campaign released an ad that attacks Trump’s decision to play golf over the weekend as the coronavirus death toll continued to rise. “The death toll is still rising,” notes the ad. “The president is playing golf.”
