Donald Trump ordered the assassination of Iran’s top general without the authorization of Congress. Nancy Pelosi has since demanded that the White House hand over the details about the deadly airstrike.
Now Donald Trump has used Twitter to inform Congress that if they want details on the war with Iran then lawmakers will have to follow him on Twitter.
“These Media Posts will serve as notification to the United States Congress that should Iran strike any U.S. person or target, the United States will quickly & fully strike back, & perhaps in a disproportionate manner. Such legal notice is not required, but is given nevertheless!” Trump tweeted.
Trump’s unbelievable tweet came on the heels of another tweet in which he threatened to destroy 52 Iranian targets. Some of those targets were cultural sites and targeting cultural sites is a war crime.
Trump would return to Twitter later in the day to post, “Iran is talking very boldly about targeting certain USA assets as revenge for our ridding the world of their terrorist leader who had just killed an American, & badly wounded many others, not to mention all of the people he had killed over his lifetime, including recently….”
He added, “….hundreds of Iranian protesters. He was already attacking our Embassy and preparing for additional hits in other locations. Iran has been nothing but problems for many years. Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans or American assets, we have…..”
He then tweeted about the cultural sites, “….targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD. The USA wants no more threats!”
Trump has a long history of belittling and harassing people on Twitter, but his recent tweets have gone far beyond that. He has threatened to commit war crimes and marginalized Congress.
Trump has gone rogue and that endangers us all.
